Liza Featherstone is a columnist for The New Republic’s online vertical, “Apocalpyse Soon” and for Jacobin magazine. She is also a contributing writer to The Nation magazine. A free-lance journalist and essayist, she has also written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, TV Guide, Lux, Newsday, Columbia Journalism Review, Salon, Slate and many other publications. Featherstone is the author of Selling Women Short: The Landmark Battle for Workers’ Rights at Wal-Mart (Basic Books, 2004) and Divining Desire: Focus Groups and the Culture of Consultation(OR Books, 2018), among other books. She teaches writing and reporting at NYU and Columbia.
