Hilan Bensusan is a philosopher, performer and installation artist currently interested in the vertigos of the present and in the insistence of excess. (S)he lectures and researches at the University of Brasilia, being part of the Anarchai investigation unit concerned with current cyberpolitics. Hilan has helped create the peri-academic publication das questões. (S)he has been a visiting researcher at the universities of New Mexico, Paris 8, Madras, Granada, Veracruz, Louisiana State and Nottingham and has recently published anarchaeology, speculation, monadologies, animism, cosmopolitics, the nature of the artificial, situatedness and on rhythms. Books in English include Being Up For Grabs (London, Open Humanities, 2016) and Indexicalism (Edinburgh, Edinburgh University Press, 2021). (S)he is currently working on a spectral realism that is based on the ubiquity of memory phenomena – the spectral figuring as the link between the diachronic reality and the concerns for justice.
