Ishita Jain is an artist-scholar and architectural historian working on affective learning environments and mythopoetic theatre. She co-founded Living Midnight Narrative Outfit(LMNO) in India. With the support of the Graham Foundation, LMNO is currently developing fictioning as a technology for indie-futures through a sustained study of Traditional Indian Board Games. She co-founded the artist collective Out of India with Gavin Keeney, co-located across US, India, and Spain where she directs, choreographs, and documents spatial intensities through theatrical-cinematic methods. Her current research project, with Prof. Shiv Visvanathan, looks at affective production of more-than-human environments in pastoral and heritage-bound ecologies in the lower Himalayas in India. This project engages with the idea of cognitive justice by demonstrating the more-than-human skin of architecture as a site for knowledge production and emergent vegetal epistemologies through the production of new myths.
