João Oliveira Duarte obtained a degree in philosophy from the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, and a master’s degree in aesthetics from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in art history. An FCT scholarship recipient and member of IHA and CEAA, he has published several essays in specialized magazines, both national and international. He has also contributed as a literary critic to several publications, including Colóquio-Letras and Jornal i. Awarded the Pen for first published work in 2017, he also wrote Não Sou da Família: Notas sobre Pasolini (2023).
